I've been seeing a lot of talk about what to do for September 11. You know, log in to the internet, don't log in to the internet, flush every toilet, yadda yadda yadda.

Joy and rapture.

I'll tell you how I'm going to observe the day.

I will think about the person I knew who died. I will think about my cousin who was in a nearby building and knew when to walk. But mostly I am going to go to work and I will live my life that day. I'll go to work. I'll cook supper. Tigerlily and I are probably hosting the weekly get-together. And we'll live.

I remember how people said after the event that the best way to not give in was to live life as normal. This doesn't mean don't remember or don't grieve, but it means Have Your Day. If you need to take the day off because you're remembering someone who died in a plane or a tower or a particular five sided building, do it - you need the break. My day will be nowhere near as dramatic or traumatic; I did not lose somebody who was particularly close to me.

I'm going to Have A Day. If you want to, go Have A Day too. Do it your way. If it matches up with mine, cool; if it doesn't, also cool. My statement is... no statement.
