A few weeks back we had a couple of friends over for dinner. ONe of them went to the bathroom and clicked on the lock on the inner doorknob - the lock those of us in the house never use. The lock stuck and we needed to remove the doorknob to get her out.
We had a similar incident last night. The knob has been removed. So, the doorknob is broken.

Last night, before going to bed, I noticed that the freezer door seemed to be a bit ajar. I cursed a little shut the door, and generally checked our The Fridge. Things were not as cool as they could have been. I shut the doors and didn't think more on it. This morning I noticed a lack of noise from The Fridge. Seems like the compressor's busted. I called the appliance store a bit under an hour ago, the repair guy should be here in a few minutes. Good service! My point, though, is that our Fridge is busted.

I am curious if (and dreading if) things will break in threes...

Well, thankfully it was just that someone had twisted the knob to off, and we discovered it before too much food spoiled, and now we know what to check next time. I do wonder which of the many people going in and out of the freezer did that, though... I can't see anyone doing it deliberately, and as Mom pointed out, my niece may be young, but she knows not to touch stuff.

wow, that's pretty bad. any chance someone bumped it accidentally, getting something out of the fridge? I've seen a fridge or two where you could do that, but typically they were older models, not spiffy new ones like you have.

And having a fridge that new fail would have been Majorly Annoying.

Phew! Glad it wasn't anything major.
