The Obama administration has introduced a new variable to the cost of affordable housing: the cost of transportation from the house to work.
Not a sexy topic, no. But think of this: if you factor in transportation costs and adjust the index from a simple 30% of income to a higher percent covering housing and transportation, the amount of affordable housing in the US drops significantly from the previous estimate of 70% affordable housing.
This is useful.
