Several years baack at a little con named Arisia there was a nice man in the games room, a Man in Black for Steve Jackson Games, who promised that there'd be a hot game of Illuminopoly later that weekend. Alas, the game did not run and no evidence of such a game had been found. Later I learned that it was supposed to be an amalgamation of Steve Jackson Games card gameIlluminati and Parker Brother's boardgame Monopoly.

Apparently it was just a joke to get us to come by the table. I was crushed. Well, OK, call it massively disappointed. Not being flirted with by pretty girls at the con, *that* could have crushed me :)

The thought of the game kept floating through my mind, though.

Well, a few days back I wrote up some rules while half-asleep. I checked them over tonight, noticed no major spelling or continuity errors, and just sent them off to Steve Jackson. Hopefully he'll chuckle.

Thank you, but I've had far fewer ideas than lots of game developers. I'm an excellent playtester, but the game ideas are still a bit rare for me.

Well, there'd be the little issue of Hasbro having the rights to Monopoly. I suppose if he likes the rules and he came to an arrangement with them he could sell the rules as a .pdf on e23.

He could license the rights, too. Ever seen the variant Monopoly versions out there based on college teams? Volopoly for Tennessee, Dawgopoly for U. of Georgia... they aren't made by Hasbro.
