A calm beyond experience of Man,
It forms the grandest palette of them all.
Inchoate, dull and empty it began
Before the spark that was the rise and fall-
And so, into the emptiness of space
A single definition did appear
Creating solid forms and boundless place
All born of what I whispered in your ear
We do not understand the world at large
With new horizons yet to be explored
As bound'ries are but goalposts that we charge
My quiet question yet must be implored:
In all Creation, how much dare we seek
Discovery of what we cannot speak?

The softer breezes blowing down the street
Are gentle zephyrs tugging at the leaves.
There is no need to shield from summer's heat
And so they fall in vast chaotic sheaves.
I have no lawn or garden for to tend,
No rake nor clippers needed for the yard.
And yet the smell of autumn does portend
The frozen winter shown upon my card.
But must I dwell on what is yet to be?
The day is bright with cool autumnal sun.
I still enjoy the bounty that I see
Of rainbowed leaves and children having fun.
I sense the coming of the winter snow
With calm surrender to the seasons flow.
