SciFi says they want more viewers, especially female viewers. At the same time they don't want to be associated with geeks who, lets face it, turned science fiction into something that could be a major market share. SciFi, please meet me at Camera 3.

SciFi, your strategy is all wrong. You have a lot of crappy shows. I mean you have a lot of crappy shows. You've often canceled good shows for crappy shows that smell like other networks laughed the show out of the state, let alone the studio. You've let other networks get exclusive rights to air good sci-fi and fantasy shows while you keep a stable of amazingly crappy shows that often have nothing to do with science fiction. You are not supposed to be FrightFi, but that's where most of your crappy shows belong.
Look, you could change your name to SlashFic and still not get those coveted female viewers because you're still showing the same crappy shows and made-for-TV movies. I find more shows with more entertaining science fiction on Cartoon Network. SciFi is only a name right now, and soon it won't even be that.

Maybe you could try showing programming I'd want to watch - I think a network that wants my attention might want to do that. I'd like some good science fiction and fantasy. Old Trek, newer Trek, old Doctor Who, Blakes 7, new Doctor Who, Torchwood, Sarah Jane Adventures, Middleman (you could save it from the ABC Family trash-heap), Babylon 5, lots of different anime, and have a kick-ass Saturday morning cartoon block. Bring back Eureka. Bring back The Paper. Hell, bring in any superhero show you care to name. You could even have shows talking about current bleeding edge developments in science and technology. Narnia. Ringworld. Dorsai. You have so much source material to reach out to.

Or you could, y'know, keep the same crappy programming and show people you don't know how to spell. I'm sure you'll eventually come up with a show I'd be willing to watch in a year or two. Or maybe not.
