Sonnet of Spring
Mar. 15th, 2009 08:42 pmWhen I look out to see the buds of Spring
I see the snow is melting on the lane
Whilst to my love a cozy lunch I bring
I long to feel a wash of Summer rain
Yet Spring is nigh and still my heart it longs
For days of warmth and arbors full of fruits
The joys of blossoms fill my soul with songs
Though I do miss my comrades' winter moots
The days are coming longer than before
And bring the blessings of a brighter Sun
I long to see my friends whom I adore
With wise and learn-ed talk mixed well with fun
O Spring, I long to feel your warmer breeze
So shall we dance among the budding trees?
(a first draft - not up to Will's standards, but not bad for a quiet evening)
