See, I'd reserved a turkey for Thanksgiving. It was a bit big, but I figured it'd get et somehow. The thing is, my butcher's supplier didn't *have* any turkeys in the weight range I'd requested.
What's worse: at noon I tried calling my butcher to see if I could swap reserved birds with somebody who wanted a bigger bird, and I'd take a smaller one. There was somebody who would have liked it, I found out when I came by to pick up the bird. Pity they never picked up the phone!
So right now we have a very large bird brining in a pot which is actually large enough, with ice; I may get more ice later.
Good butcher; I just wish they'd called to tell me about the bird disparity.
