Dec. 31st, 2005 08:33 pm2005 draws to a close. Previous years I've thought about the previous year, felt the year end, and thought about the new year.
This year feels different. The end of the year doesn't feel like an ending to me. I feel new beginnings coming, and continuations of current paths; but there isn't an ending. That feeling is... absent. It's most extraordinary and yet feels completely natural. And thus I look forward to continuing current paths and seeing new paths, but I have absolutely no regrets or remorse about the end of a year. I still have my regrets and remorse, don't get me wrong, but they aren't demarcated by the calendar. Liberating, really.
So to everyone I'll see in the new year, I'll see you tomorrow.
