These are final words on the subject. I am doing this before I either lose my nerve or forget.

For. the recent unpleasantness that happened, I am sorry.
I am sorry I ever spoke in anger. I usually know better. I will remember the next time I am angry and remember to take a breather.
I am sorry for all comments I made that were meant to hurt, and there were several - several more than I like. Ideally there should have been none. I am still trying to live up to this ideal.
I am sorry I got defensive. It helped nothing.
I am sorry I didn't speak clearly and cleanly enough to be understood.
I am sorry I didn't try to stop sooner. Escalation helped nothing.

For all of these, I feel sorrow and am sorry.

I shut no doors now to people involved, but I do shut the door on this.

I had a flash of insight today on politics in my lifetime.

I was bringing Tigerlily home with me from the Costco. At one point she told me that she'd read '1984' a couple of years before the title year and thinking she was glad that that wouldn't happen in the USA.

I replied, "You know, that's what bugs me. The last three Republican presidents have kept doing things that could have been pulled straight from that book." Well, it was words to that effect anyways - that's the essence (and yes, the same level of language and naughtiness ie no naughties)

And it's true - Reagan avoided the checks and balances and drove up the deficit; Bush Sr did more of the same (though I give him credit for raising taxes when it was needful at the cost of a second term); and Bush Jr... hell, '1984' seems to be his political Bible.

Dammit, how can I shout this from the rooftops?
