It's so heartening to see how much the Republican Party cares about individuals named Terry Schiavo and their payments to health insurance providers. For the past ten years, ever since Republicans took over Congress, they've been voting to improve quality of life for everyone wealthy and Christian.

Let's take a look at the record, shall we?
During the Clinton years they voted no on a step toward a single-payer health plan which would have covered some of the millions of uninsured Americans.
In the past year they voted to cap medical damages needed for long term care and thus help the poor health insurance companies who have been posting record profits, as well as uphold the rights of the individual corporation not to get sued in state court, where they're more likely to be found guilty and the power of states' rights unless they dislike what the state is doing, in which case they'll say it goes against the Federal government.

Yes, aren't we all proud of how the Republicans work hardly to keep everyone alive except citizens of Iraq, American soldiers over there and people who can't pay their medical bill in Texas since 1999, when George W Bush was Governor in a culture of Life except trees, wildlife and Democrats, Liberty for Republicans who break the law and the pursuit of Happiness?

This is why they voted foragainst Medicare payments for people in long-term care, and foragainst, again the right of the individual to choose to die with dignity, and foragainst, yet again the right to get enough money to give and receive proper care in a court of law if need be.

All of this lack of compassion and lack of serving and abiding by the law and lack of morality is why I adoredespise the Republican party. So let's give them a big hand!

Edit: "...and persons of nonwhite descent who were suspectedconvicted of crimes for which the death penalty could conceivably be applied..."

Aside from that, big applause.

Very nicely done. And, yes, I keep thinking that if she were still well, but working two jobs to pay her bills and unable to afford health insurance, none of these people would care.

I borrowed this link from [livejournal.com profile] omimouse earlier this week. It makes many of the same points you do; I think you'd enjoy the contrast.

Yeah... at some point I might write in speechifying style again, but this time I needed to be snarky :-)
