I've been paying a lot more attention to babies this past year or so. Having my own in the house kinda sensitized me to 'em a bit more. One thing I've noticed about them: babies aren't black, white, brown, tan or any other color.
Babies are baby-colored.

Ask any baby. They'll tell you.

I saw a study done once on men and women and reactions to babies. It still brings up the nature vs nurture thing, since women are trained to pay attention to babies from early childhood on, but what they found was that all women's pupils expand when they see a picture of a baby (showing psychological interest, I suppose), but this only happens to men once they have become fathers.
Babies also all smell like babies :)

words of advice: just because that color has a cool name like
Regal Gold and looks good on a thumbnail-sized paint sample
does not mean it will look good on a station wagon [which became known as
the baby-shitmobile and which for all the time i owned it after that
i never lost in a parking lot no matter how full it may have been....
