I've just finished watching last Sunday's 60 Minutes interview of Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan. The two men did their level best to keep to statements of opinion instead of statements of fact. Even so, I was astounded at how much they twisted the truth or out-and-out lied--and they did not get called on it particularly by their interviewer, who didn't challenge them much. He did a little, on items of relevance even--I'll give him that. Just not much.

So much for an adversarial press.
