Sonnet: Spacemen 3000
Mar. 25th, 2012 10:45 pmThe engines thrum so softly as they turn
And harness fires made beyond the real.
We smoothly glide in space while rockets burn.
You'd never guess how fast away we steal.
With artificial gravity inside
We have it so much easier today
Than Armstrong on his bumpy rocket ride
Up to a moon so lifeless, cold and gray.
Let's raise a toast to all who went before
And paved the way for travelers to be.
To all the ones who heard the engines roar
And those who dreamt about the solar sea!
Explorers all, we know not what we'll find,
But still we miss our loved ones left behind.
