Suzanne Bump beat Guy Glodis and Mike Lake to secure the Democratic candidacy for State Auditor, getting a fraction of a percent under 50%. If you want to see town-by-town results there is a very handy map here. I will mention that Guy Glodis dominated central Massachusetts but didn't do nearly as well in the west or the east. I suspect he has had a long-term political strategy of slowly raising his visibility around the state. While this election showed he didn't have enough support outside the greater Worcester area, he is still slowly increasing his statewide visibility which might help him for the next statewide election. Still, Suzanne Bump dominated in the vast majority of cities and towns despite not having held an elected statewide office before.
Mary Z Connaughton crushed Kamal Jain to secure the Republican candidacy for State Auditor, getting a whopping 87% of the vote. Jain's switch from the state Libertarian party to the Republicans may not have stood him in good stead this time; Auditor is one of the few positions where the Libertarians can claim a natural affinity for the workings of the office. Apparently he switched because he felt one of the two major parties would need to back him to successfully get on the ballot and win.
Steve Grossman beat Steve Murphy to become the Democratic candidate for State Treasurer, getting 61% of the vote.
According to the Worcester Telegram and Gazette, Jim McKenna's campaign has reported that he has gotten enough write-in votes to be a Republican challenger to Martha Coakley for the Attorney General's race. Vote tallies are not in yet but they should be soon.
Gonna be an interesting race!
