Tis the eve of the season for primary voting
I have seen some derision of Clinton's emoting
The press has its favorites and never stops talking
of who should be running and who should be walking

Substance has lacked in these public discourses
Most of the blather treats people as horses
or maybe as sheeple instead of as people
As people they feel they can weird out and creeple

The Democrats, leftists and Greens have a choice
of voting Obama, who has a good voice
or voting for Clinton with, fair or not, baggage
that's come from two decades of MSM naggage

Republicans face a dilemna of three
and the populists seem to like Mike Huckabee
Romney has hair like John Edwards or worse
while McCain seems to call for a maverick purse
(And lest we forget if Ron Paul has a chance
he'd do more if not always looked at askance
by a media hellbent on king or queen making -
the hell with the people who they won't be waking)

But still we don't know how they stand on the issues
Are any in favor of socialized tissues?
What about healthcare and runaway costs?
What of fuel prices that soar in the frosts?
What about borders? The Mideast? Or Gitmo?
What about peace talks that end up in slomo?
What of low taxes for people with riches
while treating the rest of us all like their bitches?
Clean water? Clean air? A net for the poor?
What of our new Nobel Laureate Gore?

With talking heads talking of nothing of worth
through the day and the night though my baby girl's birth
I've just one thing left on my mind in my sight:
Polling chaos to all, and to all a good night.
