I've read a few pundits today who have said, "Now that the Democrats have won, they need to show restraint and bipartisan ethics."

These same people have said nothing, nothing! about the GOP shutting the Democrats out of the political process as much as possible over the past six years, and said GOP acting with less restraint than an unattended bull in an unattended china shop.

I want the Democrats to show leadership, which was achieved most often in this election by not moving right-ward.
I want the Democrats to act with prudence when required, with boldness when necessary. So yes, appropriate restraint.
I do want the Democrats to reach across the aisle sometimes, because I don't think they should be (or are, honestly) small-minded jerks.

But to all you pundits, those of you who keep treating any GOP win as a right for the Republicans to cut loose but any Democrat win as a reason for Democrats to 'show restraint', I give you a hearty raspberry. It's amazing so many people haven't noticed that you haven't been speaking with the mouth God gave you, because the smell when you talk reminds me of highway rest area restrooms.

OK, that's enough bile for the month.
