I don't know how closely you've paid attention to his case. He went up on the stand and quite thoroughly declared himself to have been near the center of the action. He definitively waived his right to not self-incriminate....
What nags me is that the legal authorities specifically said that, for purposes of this case, a loaded jetliner qualifies as a weapon of mass destruction. I have the feeling that this is partly a political move by some people Very High Up so they can say they've finally convicted somebody for plotting to use WMDs.
Do the people who gave this definition to the jury have any IDEA just what a huge can of worms they've just opened? Jetliners fly everywhere.
