A few things of interest for all you fellow-devotees of the television:

Drawn Together is a new series on Comedy Central, a spoof of MTV's Real World done with cartoon characters. If South Park is your game you'll probably like this; if not, I truly suggest you stay away. I'll watch for a few more episodes to make sure one way or the other; but I can tell you I did not like what they did with the Betty Boop rip-off, and here I am not talking about using one of the voice-actors from the Powerpuff Girls to do the voice because that was good if a bit creepy. Almost every character there is in some way opposite to the character they are based on, which is fine. I could deal with it if it were just partial opposite. Total polar opposite, however, is not, and that's what they did to her. I could live without what they did to her and I can live without the pig. Aside from them it's a fun little show, especially the Pikachu rip-off.

Legend of Black Heaven is showing Monday nights on International Channel (IC). It's the tale of an over-the-hill rocker who discovers that his music is not just wanted but is needed - in outer space. His key there is a beautiful woman who keeps a low profile on Earth. She has three devoted but inept assistants. Watch the hijinks as he tries to enjoy his music once again and tries to avoid getting in trouble in his regular life - job, wife and young son.
Voice-actor note: the main protagonist is voiced by the same fellow who did Jet, the cybered-up ex-cop, on Cowboy Bebop

The Al Franken Show, normally heard on Air America AM radio, can be found on Sundance Channel weeknights. You don't get the full on-air show. You get some of the guests, occasional segments like Mark Luther, a regular dose of the Oy Yoy Yoy show, and graphics to go along with what you hear on radio. You miss out on most phone calls in, which is a pity sometimes; but you also miss the nearly-hours-worth of commercials that air during the three-hour radio show, which is very good.
Oh, and Katherine Lanpher is cute.

And on to politics:
So much for dignity in the White House. (A .mov file, not particularly big but still...) I've never considered such a gesture dignified, anyways. Especially not when I do it, and I'm not the President.

Tis the season for voting and all through the house
Not a creature was stirring[snip]

*ahem*

On Tuesday, November 2, the USA will have it's quadrennial elections for President. There's been a lot of campaigning; there's been a lot of mud.

Here is my list of suggestions for you, the undecided:
1) Ignore everything anybody says about any candidate. Seriously. Pay attention only to what each candidate says about himself.
2) Look at the list of accomplishments for each candidate. Ignore their own rhetoric and the rhetoric of their supporters.
2a) Look at how hard or easy a time they had making any of their accomplishments. Did they have much opposition or little? Have they kept promises or not?
3) Look at what each candidate proposes to do.
3a) Pay particular attention to the issues that matter to you.
3b) Look to see if what a candidate is proposing to do will change or replace a current program or timeline, and how it would change it for the worse or the better.
4) Look at who endorses each candidate, and what those organizations stand for.
5) Use non-partisan sources for information. This knocks out Fox News, CNN, Matt Drudge, Air America Radio, The Nation, The Washington Times, and Rush Limbaugh; take a fresh look.
6) Vote according to the dictates of your conscience and according to your own moral, ethical and pragmatic codes.

I know how I personally want people to vote, but I frankly want people to be informed and make a choice based on solid information.
