Yet another example of the startling lack of justice in the US justice system took place with yet another example of the startling lack of coverage in the US press.

Ahh, the privileges of the press have never been so undercut. Apparently the people being held in Guantanamo Bay are so dangerous that a few sentences saying "Hi" to the press would cause massive global destruction.

An excerpt from an article in The Economist, about some of the ramifications of the ruling for gay marriage in Canada:
The bill is likely to become law. If it does, Canada would follow Belgium and the Netherlands to become the third country to give legal status to same-sex unions. Canadian marriage licences are accepted in the United States; many gay Americans are now likely to cross the border to wed, throwing American law into confusion.
I wonder how fast the US Congress will try to move to remove the full faith and credit rules behind marriages in respects to international law now. They did it once when Vermont passed its civil union ruling, quite unConstitutionally.

News is much more interesting when you don't look at just the US press.
