What is a friend?

A friend gives a helping hand when you need one and sometimes when you want one, too.
A friend listens to you when you talk, even when you don't talk with words.
A friend thinks of you during the day because they like thinking about you.
A friend spends time with you. The times aren't always good times, but they're made better with your friend.
A friend stands up to you when you're straying from your path.
Your path may not always be the same as your friend's, but the road probably goes in the same general direction more often than not.
A friend can't always help but almost always wants to. Those almost times, your friend might need your help.
A friend puts up with your minor bad habits because they enjoy your major good habits. Or maybe they share your minor bad habits.
A friend wishes you well during good times and bad.
A friend backs up those good wishes with actions unless circumstances completely prevent.

Friends are tested in the difficult times with the difficult tasks. Those friends who haven't been tested yet may be those testworthy friends - give them the benefit of the doubt.

Friends are good to come by. Even a single friend can help light a murky path.
