I have four shows for your attention this month, so be ready.

First up is a new cartoon show on Fox's Saturday morning line-up, Magical DoReMi. It stars eight-year-old girls who want to be witches and start their training. Animation style is reminscent of Princess Tutu, a well-done kid-form of anime. This is aimed at the little girl market and I can already see the merchandizing tie-ins; but the show's not bad - I was able to watch through the whole thing and not cringe the entire time, even for the tie-ins. Dialogue is good, characterizations are livable so far, and there's even plot. The Woolf says good to go.

Second is a return show also on Fox's Saturday morning line-up, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. This is season four in the new series and they're still going strong. They re-did the opening title sequence, generally improving it, and guaranteeing Shredder is out for the whole season if not longer (Mikey dances. "We shredded Shredder!"). They still have plenty of enemies, never fear. Still going strong and still raising shell.

Next is a new show on Cartoon Network on Saturday night, Naruto. A twelve year old boy lives in a hidden town of ninjas, and he has just found out that a powerful nine-tailed fox spirit, which had nearly destroyed the town twelve years back, was sealed inside of him. The spirit has not come out but many in the town are afraid of him. He, meanwhile, wants to be a ninja, and one of legend at that. He has just started on his training but he shows major talent. He's still got a lot of brat in him, though; and he's not afraid to use his own jutsu, sexy-jutsu, which turns him into a stunningly pretty girl garbed only in wisps of smoke at appropriate places, to throw people off-balance. Storyline is very good, chracters are well-developed, and the animation is great. Must see!

Last is anime a few people may have seen before, shown again on G4's Anime Unleashed, RahXephon. Take a high-school boy in Japan, 2014. It seems his city was the last to survive while the rest of the world was destroyed. Then toss in some giant mecha action and shake his world up completely, with people in his city who bleed blue, a living outside world with lots of people where time runs differently, and an awesomely powerful mecha that responds to his thoughts even at a distance. Oh, and toss in a few pretty girls too, because a teen hero-to-be always needs pretty girls to fluster him. A bit complex for some on world-story, but the story is stil unfolding and developing; and the personal story is straightforward enough, if twisty. Give it a look-see.
