Teen Titans
OK. Anybody remember some of the 1970s Superfriends? Occasionally a fan of Batman, Bat-mite (IIRC), would come and be a headache for the occasionally-shadowy knight (hey, *nobody* was dark in that show, not even the villains).
I saw the newest Teen Titans this weekend. Robin has his own Bat-mite, called (ubiquitously) Larry.
Not that the episode wasn't amusing, but Oy!

but that psycho was named "Todd." no, not McFarlane. that would be funny. I want to say "Palino" but that doesn't sound right either.

A Vortex Blaster is nothing new. There's a book from a long time back, sometimes called Master of the Vortex, sometimes called The Vortex Masters, by E. E. 'Doc' Smith, from which I grabbed the term several years before Time Force.
