Teen Titans

OK. Anybody remember some of the 1970s Superfriends? Occasionally a fan of Batman, Bat-mite (IIRC), would come and be a headache for the occasionally-shadowy knight (hey, *nobody* was dark in that show, not even the villains).

I saw the newest Teen Titans this weekend. Robin has his own Bat-mite, called (ubiquitously) Larry.

Not that the episode wasn't amusing, but Oy!

Not seen it yet. Hope the parasite didn't wear a leisure suit, though :-P

(What can I say? It's been that sort of a life, especially the last two weeks.)

He wasn't annoying enough the first time?...

For a minute I thought it was an extrapolation of a storyline in Nightwing where an idiot with a penchant for opening whoopass by the case on baddies cooked up the super-hero name Nite-Wing.

but that psycho was named "Todd." no, not McFarlane. that would be funny. I want to say "Palino" but that doesn't sound right either.

because Todd Palino might not appreciate the connection. :">

Did you know that DeSaad was voiced by Rene Auberjonois both in Superfriends and in his latest appearance in Justice League?

That I did not know. I didn't know he'd been doing voice-over work in the 70s.

Oh, and are you a Power Rangers fan? (I know that's unrelated, but when the Time Force Rangers put together their V-Weapons, the Vortex Blaster is what the combined weapon is called.)

I do in fact watch Power Rangers fairly regularly right now, but I'm not a die-hard fan. I consider Power Rangers an occasional guilty pleasure, as such - I like good chop-socky.

A Vortex Blaster is nothing new. There's a book from a long time back, sometimes called Master of the Vortex, sometimes called The Vortex Masters, by E. E. 'Doc' Smith, from which I grabbed the term several years before Time Force.

Really? What's that about?
